After your visit your insurance will send an explanation of benefits (EOB). This will explain how much your insurance re-imbursed the physician and what is your responsibility.

How long will it take to get things settled with the insurance company?

Depending on the insurance company/plan it can take up to 3 weeks before your claims are processed. 

 



Why am I getting bills from physicians?

​Every January (most PPO plan's deductible rolls over). Just like your car insurance your health insurance may have a deductible which has to be met before your claims will be paid. 

If your deductible has been met some plans have a co-pay and others have co-insurance. Please ask us if you would like us to clarify.



I received a notice that my insurance company has paid on my bill - but I can't understand how they calculated their payment amount. Do you know?​

Every insurance company has a fee schedule which as a provider I have to adhere to. You should always look at the contracted fee schedule to determine what your balance is.
